Resonate Named One of America’s Most Promising Companies By Forbes Magazine

2011-11-30

Reston, VA -- November 30, 2011

Resonate, the company that connects advertisers with audiences based on values, today announced it has been selected by Forbes magazine as one of America’s 100 Most Promising Companies.  The Forbes list acknowledges 100 private up-and-coming companies that meet their editors’ strict criteria for compelling business models, strong management teams, notable customers, strategic partners and investment capital.

“This recognition from Forbes underscores the game-changing capability Resonate brings to the digital media market.” said Resonate CEO Bryan Gernert. “Leading Brands have known for decades that consumer values are the source of the most important insights describing consumers. By enabling advertisers to reach audiences defined by these values, and delivering optimization and measurement of online media based on these consumer values, Resonate has finally made consumer insights actionable for advertisers.”

Resonate's Insight Driven Media, is a unique offering that delivers value based insights into consumers coupled with a proven, values-based buying methodology to reach those consumers online.

“Sizing up younger, privately held companies is hard: Their fortunes can change very quickly and there’s a dearth of public data,” said Brett Nelson, executive editor at Forbes. “We took a more comprehensive approach to evaluate their health and potential.”

To sharpen its search, Forbes teamed up with CB Insights, a Manhattan-based data firm that tracks investment in high-growth private companies. With $650,000 in grants from the National Science Foundation, CB Insights has developed complex software called Mosaic that mines myriad online sources (from press releases and social networks to job boards and court filings) to come up with one, algorithmically derived score that measures a private company’s health. Forbes married Mosaic’s data-crunching with old-fashioned reporting to assemble a list of rising stars with bright growth prospects.

Holiday Gift Values; No Not That Kind of Value!

You just opened the most beautifully wrapped box in the room. Everyone stares and you gasp. It’s the ski sweater you gave your cousin two years ago; Love Dad! At that moment you vow re-gifting must stop, or at least re-gifting your gifts ends today. Now it’s the holidays again, and you have no time but one very long list. You can’t afford to buy everyone an iPad. Besides there is always the possibility that even the dearest friend or relative will re-sell it on eBay.

The Fiscal Moderates: A Whole New Center

No new news: the economy remains the central issue in politics at every level: local, state and national. Winning elected office in 2012 requires a finely tuned understanding of where a particular electorate stands on fiscal issues. Success also means avoiding the zero-sum game. Winning a higher percentage of a small ideological group might not get the job done. Attaining or retaining office could be a matter of earning the vote of a smaller percentage of a large ideological group.
